AMOpportunities Announces Partnership with Florida International University to Provide Clinical Experiences. This partnership guarantees international medical students and graduates a spot in FIU’s clinical rotation program.

CHICAGO

March 2, 2020

AMOpportunities (AMO), a Chicago-based company that provides international medical students and graduates with clinical training across the United States, announced today a new partnership with Florida International University, guaranteeing rotations for trainees into the medical school’s hospital network.

Typically, if international medical students and graduates are interested in a rotation with FIU, they apply through the website and compete with thousands of other students. This partnership creates a fast lane through the process by guaranteeing a spot within the program for international trainees.

“We are so excited to partner with AMOpportunities. This partnership opens our doors to more international medical students and graduates, which goes one step further toward solving the impending physician shortage,” says Ferinelys Cabrera, MIB, Program Director, Office of International Affairs, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, Florida International University. “AMO’s incredible software simplifies the application process for our team and makes onboarding medical students easy. With AMO vetting all candidates for our rotations, we’re confident we’ll see the top international medical trainees.”

Inviting foreign-trained doctors to the U.S. is critical to the success of our healthcare system. According to data from the Association of AmericanMedical Colleges, the U.S. could see a shortage of 122,000 physicians by2030. Foreign-trained doctors are a critical solution to addressing this looming crisis.

“I am so thrilled to announce our landmark affiliation with Florida International University,” says Kyle Swinsky, CEO, AMOpportunities.“Opening up our pipeline of over 100,000 international medical students and graduates to top U.S. academic institutions enhances the diversity in our country, which in turn can influence patient outcomes. It develops opportunities for foreign-trained doctors, which the U.S. desperately needs.”

Other AMOpportunities institutional partnerships include HarvardMedical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC, Inc., University of Illinois Chicago,University of Miami, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, LarkinCommunity Hospital in Miami, and Saint Anthony Hospital in Chicago.
